Pour Me Another Glass Poem by Drunken Mystic

Pour Me Another Glass

Pour me another glass
Let me have a little fun.
Give me a little hand
Let me hold on to something for a change.

The night has passed, even stars have closed their eyes
I waited for Hypnos and I yearned for his lover.
He never left his cave that night, and she couldn't help me
As she can't erase what is craved on my soul.

I drank up to forget, only to add another night
I can't stand to remember.
I was digging skeletons in the graveyard for too long
Till the day my shovel broke.

Then I choose to walk away
I walked, then wandered and got lost.
On the way, I met new vagrants
Who gifted me with new shovels.

A poem that expressed the despair of the persona haunted by the past that cannot be ut to rest. A well crafted poem with rich imagery.10
