Power Of A Gun Poem by Dorsey Baker

Power Of A Gun

casey Goodman jr
another black
man shot
killed as he stood
on his front doorstep
shot by the law

the law
with a fast
trigger finger
and a real big gun
with do many bullets flying
in every direction
where can you run

but if you stay
you might get shot
anyway
you might get shot
because it happens a lot

the law
and the people
they are both afraid
but the gun
is more deadly
than the blade
a man shot to death
now goes to his grave
