Power of Poetry

The Persian poetry
-is well-known and no need
-to define, mention it…

But what is less talked of
-is poets' impact on...

I know of two poets
- with same name
- "Farrukhi."

One was a pro shah
-and other was anti!

Sistani (prior)
-wrote of Moon's Crescent:
- "Is the shah's servant,
-who has bowed and is bent
-for valued Majesty
-to climb on horseback."

He got gold in the bags.

And shah was too cruel
-of Ghazni, named: "Mahmood."

Latter was from Yazd
-arrested he was and
-sent behind walls and bars;
-resisted with pride
-and went on strike
-sewed his lips.

If the first fanned fire
-of shah and injustice
-the second was leader
-for many, among them
-those who kick
-regimes out…

Today too…poets are? ! ?
