Prayer Of Remembrance Poem by Denis Martindale

Prayer Of Remembrance

Remind me, Lord, by day and night,
Of blessings old and new,
And then renew me with insight
And miracles You do.
If not for You, then I, at length,
Would hardly reconcile,
For what am I without Your strength,
Your patience or Your smile?

While stars shine in Your skies above,
While dolphins swim Your seas,
While children look to You with love,
Or pray upon their knees,
Let there be signs and wonders, too,
Through saints' prayers, healings shared,
Let love stay fresh like morning dew,
Declaring that You cared.

And may Your love abide within,
Compassion shared abroad,
Not just another soul to win,
But pleasing You, my Lord.
My Saviour lived and died for me,
And Jesus is His Name,
My Saviour went to Calvary,
My lost soul to reclaim.

Lord, let me not forget Mankind,
Remind me why Christ died,
Guide me so other souls will find
God's grace that Christ supplied.
For what is Man without Your Son?
The King of Love for sure,
The Prince of Peace in all He's done,
Loved now and evermore.

Amen.

(Sing the prayer to the hymn tune
of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.)

Remember that G.R.A.C.E. stands for
God's Riches At Christ's Expense.
