Prayers Of Perdition Poem by Ted Sheridan

Prayers Of Perdition

Rating: 5.0

A man has words with his neighbor and attacks his neighbor with prayers
Prayers of a horrible fate that he wishes to beset his family and friends
Pray as he might his neighbor will live larger than life
Blessed with good fortune and joy
The neighbor will not be soon destroyed
Least not by prayer
Behold
A man who called upon God to smite his brother
Is soon smitten with a string of perils like no other….
I prayed for a blight of Locus and conspicuous wilting
To destroy and devour my adversaries crops and harvest
He was evil and I wanted him to hurt
As I hurt… only more
My money and my life both gone to hell
Hell was too good for the likes of him
So I prayed he be cast deeper into the Pit
Below the molten lava, fire and brimstone
Where only trolls and demons dare dwell
Yet God blessed my antagonist further
And I was left bleeding in my pitiful suffering
Alone
Without a prayer of being heard…
