These are the precious moments in life
When someone makes you smile
Even when you expected otherwise.

A grudge not kept
An unexpected pat on the back
A tactless comment over-looked
As they know the heart is good
When a compliment is not general but specific
Then you know it's not just lip-service.

When an old friend
With whom you lost touch
Reached out to you
And said, 'Missed you so much! "

You have tried so hard to change
It was your resolution this New Year
Someone said, 'You have changed! '
That acknowledgement is so rare.

That person who
Didn't make a good first impression
It so turned out
Later became your best friend.

A stranger you bumped into
Many many times
Would have remained a stranger
Except when you decided to smile
And struck a conversation
That lasted a lifetime.

When you let your guard down
In an act of strife
In humility n vulnerability
You discovered the real joys of life.
