Preparation Poem by cecil hickman

Preparation

We are never really prepared for it.
Even though we may not fear it
Our lives we hold dear and treasure.
Though pleasure is not always there

We may say I just wish I could die
But truly, we do UN-doubt-ably lie.
When life’s torments overwhelm us
We search our soul’s last course.

Let us all take heed of this path.
Leave our testament proudly.
Serve not to other’s total devotion.
Set free-your inner giving and love

Preparation for happiness beyond
Begins with a true hearts bond
This life only serves to pretend.
Time we have here to attend.
