Presumptions..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

Presumptions.....

i've seen
Lady Mcbeth
kill the boy
right on the
sofa with
a pillow while
the lover
held the feet
leaving bruises
when they were
once never there

who would think
that Lady Mcbeth
with her beauty and
grace is a murderer?
nobody.
who would think
that she would lie?
nobody.

it is all logic.
it is all presumption.

the lover confessed
who the killer was
right in his very eyes.

but who would believe this
kind of man/
nobody.

It is all logic.
all presumption and

so hold on to it
tightly, thus
the guilty goes
Scot free
while the innocent
is jailed
you see?
