Pretty Girl. Poem by Kelsey Bachmeier

Pretty Girl.

Rating: 3.0

Take off those ugly glasses girl
drag a brush through
your perfect hair
apply that pretty pretty
shade of black to your nails
find the just right outfit
that desribes your mood
a studded belt
and checkered shoes

but make-up won't help,
a face like that
beaten and bruised
then left for dead.

walk that straight line girl
just like you always do
don't be ashamed that no one
looks up to you
but schools too easy.
and friends are too hard.
seems like the only right time.
is when its just you

long sleeve shirts won't hide
those bruises like those
broken and hurt
then left alone

yet home can sometimes be
a bit choatic

I do the same thing, My poem 'movie Rental' is pretty much a clone of the song 'holler' by blue october. Alot of my poetry is started by a song and turned into..well whatever it turns out to become. I love this one for the simple fact i can believe this as commentry for a girl to say to herself well looking in the mirror. Like she is so ashamed of her apearance her main outlet is to dig in deeper inside herself.
