Prevaricator - Poem by Marie Cris Ponsaran

your words are lies
ever since time began
i have known myself a fool
to turn a blind eye
on your deceitful nature
always sucking the life
and giving only negativity
you are a parasite
basking in the favors of love

you deprive me of my existence

you are the beloved prevaricator
who showers me words
and yet i have known this
to be all pretend
a work of art you have nurtured
within yourself
to survive the harsh realities
of having no one

you are this:
the one who opened my eyes
to life's realities
showed me how to love without regret
to hate without inhibition

you made me whole
you made me human
