Prince Of Peace Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Prince Of Peace

He was born under the brightest star,
And three wise men had traveled so far.
They came bearing gifts for the baby,
Placed in a manger for them to see.

The angels smiled and began to sing,
Over the birth of the King of Kings.
The savior had arrived on to the Earth,
And they all were aware of his worth.

The child needed to be protected,
For his birth had been predicted.
He would be the one for our salvation,
And the ruler over a powerful nation.

He would perform miracles, so they'd believe,
And bring happiness when they would grieve.
They all knew that he was the one,
As they looked upon him, the holy son.

He was later betrayed by one of his own,
But he knew that he wouldn't die alone.
He asked his father to forgive them,
And also, that he would not condemn.

The Prince of Peace until his last breath,
And continued to be even after his death.
He arose from the dead to return again,
We're just waiting for the moment when.
