Princes Of The Night Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Princes Of The Night

Princes of the night
Dwelling in the realms
Where twilight continues
Walking in to night:
Venice of the brain
Serene and cool-blown
Winds
Over canals
And gondolas flying by
And
The playing of violins
In casements open
On the night dark waters
Romantic sub-conscious
Princes of the night
Let me in your club
And company
Princes of the night
Paladins of the sub-conscious
Twist and turn
Column bronze and torque
From base to height.

There
Be
Nothing
Left
To
Rue
This
Night
The
Cool
Wind
Blows
In
The
Distance
A
Violins
Sings
With
A
Nightingale

Princes of the night
Dwelling in the realms
Where twilight continues
Walking in to night:
Venice of the brain
Serene and cool-blown
Winds
Over canals
And gondolas flying by
And
The playing of violins
In casements open
On the night dark waters
Romantic sub-conscious
Princes of the night
Let me in your club
And company
Princes of the night
Paladins of the sub-conscious
Twist and turn
Column bronze and torque
From base to height.
