Prognosis - Poem by Douglas Scotney
You can live
with an incorruptible ethical nature
and one that is both good and bad:
the one excuses the badness in the other
for the goodness beside the bad.
The conflict between grows less
as the contrast within grows more,
becoming the ultimate determinant
of how much life has in store.
