Promises
Promises of a love
and happily ever afters
Promises of friendship
and a shoulder to cry on
Promises of never leaving
staying and healing
Promises aren't set in stone
So promises can be broken
Yet they don't realize
the pain behind a broken promise
never knowing what was true
and what was false
Why make a promise
if you never planned to keep it
