Prophets Of Doom Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Prophets Of Doom

Prophets of doom, with darkened sight,
Your words of warning ring out loud and clear,
You speak of death and destruction with might,
And fill our hearts with dread and constant fear.

Your visions, like a stormy sea, crash down,
Upon our trembling souls, in mighty waves,
Foresight or folly? Only time will crown,
The truth or falsehood within your graves.

With furrowed brows and eyes that shine so bright,
You call us to repent and change our ways,
But do your words inspire us to fight,
Or do they lead us to a hopeless maze?

Prophets of doom, ,
Which home you have put as sundered?
Which dreams you have not destroyed?
You sowed the seeds of evil,
On the fallow of Love and peace.
Their voices echo through the twilight's gloom,
Foretelling fates that seal our mortal leaves.

With eyes that pierce the veil of time's deceit,
They glimpse the future's dire and troubled course,
Their words, like daggers, pierce with chilling force,
Unveiling truths that rend the soul's retreat.

They bear the weight of visions yet unseen,
Of worlds collapsing, empires brought to dust,
Their mournful cries, a symphony of trust,
A dirge that echoes through the vast unseen.

Yet, amidst the darkness, hope remains alight,
A flicker in the depths of human hearts,
For in their warnings, wisdom's spark imparts,
A chance to mend the paths, to choose the right.

So heed their voices, though they bring despair,
For in their prophecies, redemption lies,
Embrace the challenge, let their words inspire,
And forge a future where hope defies.
