Protecting Our Borders Poem by Randy McClave

Protecting Our Borders

Why can't we protect our borders
Just with our thoughts and our prayers,
Instead of with walls and with our military
While we cry out our worries and cares.
Instead of using our taxpayers dollars
Instead of placing and installing a new wall tomorrow or today,
Since we need to keep all of those terrible people out
Why not instead get on our knees to pray.
Dear Republicans let's pray to our lord
Ask him and his angels to patrol our border wall, our fence,
So, we can keep all the immigrants and strangers out
Let's use that strategy as our sure defense.
When there's a shooting we cry
When there is an illegal crossing we become furious,
Why not place our worries and problems in God's hands
As I'm a devout Christian who is just curious.
Let's us all clasp our hands together
Let's toss away all of the bricks and mortar and tools,
Why can't we use our thoughts and prayers to protect the border
It's what we use to protect our schools.
