Proverbs 17: 17 Poem by Charles Exton

Proverbs 17: 17

Philadelphia is greek for love between brothers
This is a love that is like no other
Brother are notorious for making each other suffer
But behind all the teasing and banter it's expression of love undercover
But love from a friend should always be willing to smother
Throughout life true friends always showing love will be something we all discover

and elsewhere I found: 'Philadelphia city in Pennsylvania between the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, from Greek, taken by William Penn to mean 'brotherly love, ' from philos 'loving' (see philo-) + adelphos 'brother' (see Adelphi) .

'The Shocking True Origin of the Name "Philadelphia" ': according to an online article dated 2020, Spencer McDaniel says 'The "brotherly love" in the name originally referred to literal incest' involving an Egyptian pharoah and his sister.
