Pull Yourself Together Poem by D.N. Rebb

Pull Yourself Together

Rating: 5.0

It's all coming apart at the seams
Nightmares are now the only dreams
State of sanity, never questioned before
Constantly battling an inner mental war
Never dealt with this level of stress in the past
Gloomy dark days show up on the forecast
Handling frustration to an intense degree
The mind, so full of this disorganized debris
Getting angry with the ones most loved
Common curtesy to the back is shoved
Nothing seems to feel right anymore
Just spinning around this mental revolving door

Craving anyone's hug
But afraid to be touched
Brains feeling the need to unplug
To happy thoughts we need to clutch
Wanting some company
Yet, needing to remain alone
A cry for help, suddenly
Trying to refocus in this new zone
Where is that inner voice of reason?
Why has it not guided new strength?
Desperately craving for a new season
Sacrificing sanity at any length

Pull yourself together, man
You can do this, I know you can
A new horizon is appearing in the distance
You will again feel to have a healthy existence
You need to hang in there
There will be an answer to your prayers
Better times are on the way
Start to pull yourself together today
