Pure Love Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Pure Love

You've been fighting this same old war
I know you are destine for so much more
Been on this road way too long
Feeling unsure, trying to be strong
Your world continually turns upside down
I'll be your rock, I won't let you drown
You can be the person you want to be
When you make the decision to finally be set free
Sacrificing so much for others sake
You give so much more than you take
The beauty that resides within your heart
It's only a fraction of what sets you apart
With fortitude, you handle the cards you've been dealt
Your strength and dignity makes my heart melt
My heart swells with pride from the accomplishments you've made
The love and adoration I have for you will never fade
Happiness seems so far from reach
For you, it's what I most beseech
I'd take away all your worries, if I could
You've withstood more than you ever should
True love comes around once in this life
It's unconditional and never causes one strife
My heart cries out in pain
As I once again board this plane
I take comfort in your promise to see me through
We have the deepest bond, me and you
Pictures of you etched deep in my heart
When I close my eyes we're not apart
I'll return, this time to stay
Until then, God keep you safe I'll pray
Our love has stood the test of time
A greater love you'll not find
Calm your mind and quiet your heart
My love for you has been there from the start
