With salvation imperilled
so long as one misguided symbol remained

one infidel one blasphemer one recalcitrant daughter

with eyes on the Great Pyramid of Khufu
and one delusion,
the deluded combined with
and became killers and thieves
and bombed the head off the sphinx
and extolled theft and slaughter.
