Pyro Poem by Naola Camara

Pyro

Falling for you was playing with matches
I've played with fire many of times in my lifetime, foolishly thinking I was the 'Human Torch' and that I could never be burned
But there was something about you
I never knew what it was and I don't believe I ever will
The sparks that filled the air whenever we met were both captivating and enchanting
I felt like a whole new person in your presence
As if I had been reborn and saw the world through clear eyes for the first time in my life
I never wanted your warmth to leave my life
Before I knew it, I had become a pyromaniac
But after playing with fire for so long, it's impossible for one not to get burned
I have ran out of matches
Your warmth has left my life forever
And now my world is dark and cold
All I can do is long for your warmth once more, hoping for the possible day that we meet again
The day where the fire comes back into my life
The day where the sparks come back into my surroundings
The day where your warmth comes back into my heart...
