Quicksand Poem by Vonda Overlie

Quicksand

Your arrogance makes my skin crawl.
And to think a lifetime ago you were my world.

Was I too blind to see then?
Had love filtered my common sense?

Surely you never captured me with those hateful words.
Loves arrows dig deep.

Iam no longer naieve and afraid.
I can stand on my own.

I thought you were my rock.
I found out before it was too late.

You are quicksand.
You will sink alone.
