Racism And Ignorance Exist Poem by Hebert Logerie

Racism And Ignorance Exist

Racism is systemic, endemic and ubiquitous
At times, it is elusive, devious, and treacherous
In the long run, it affects negatively the racists
The ignorants and the victims of this disease
Which destroys the humanity, the inner peace
Of an individual who finds himself not at ease
Due to some unfair, unsubstantiated opinions
Or negative comments. We must take actions
Positive and decisive actions against racism
Wherever and whenever it shows its ugly head
Racism is the instigator of all evils. Racism is bad
For the present and the future.Like fascism
And corruption, this cancer should have no place
In our society, communities, churches and schools
It is sad to say that the racists and the elusive fools
Occupy high positions with significant importance
In our world, nations, states, administration and in the militaries
The victims of racism do not find it easy or funny to falsely
Accused anybody of unfairness, meanness and cruelties
So the authorities should not nonchalantly look the other way
Hoping that the accusations, charges or complaints will go away
Like the dead dry leaves of the last autumn. Racism is alive
And ignorance is another cancer that we need to eradicate
Through education, wits, and reconciliation. Racism is alive
Ladies, and gentlemen, we need to strangle and decapitate it
Now and forever. Ironically, countless educators, superintendents
Principals, supervisors and officers are members of many clans
Secrete gangs or cults that have devastating effects on the present
And the future. It's fair to say that the racists forget that we're all human
We really need to do more about racism and ignorance
We need to talk about these two evils, these two devils
We need to unite until they're gone, vanished at all levels
And that makes a lot of sense.
