Racism Haiku - Poem by Chenou Liu

for Abraham Joshua Heschel who proclaims that Racism is man's gravest threat to man.

'those slanted eyes'
in the room silence
like thunder

racism talk
what does white
smell like?

Note: The phrase, 'slanted eyes, ' is a racist slur that refers to a person of Asian descent, especially of Chinese descent.

Thunder lies silent within the cloud, until time is right to burst. When it bursts, how terrifying it is! Racism too looks similar. You seem a champion of Haiku. I learn from you. Thank you Liu for sharing. X (Report)Reply

    Exquisitely Beautiful Eyes
