Count the stars and the diamond blue mountains,
Laugh at the moon if you can,
Check the time,
Watch the sword bearer approach,
Furious as Zeus the god of war,
Here comes the man with his paint and stick,
Ready to scribble your epitaph.
Dead whilst desperate to leave a mark.
Vanishing in the distance like morning mist,
As the forces of darkness fled at the approaching dawn,
The railroad tracks and the sojourning man,
Chasing elusive dreams.
In a bid to prove worthiness
Sadly dying a bitter man,
With no mark and nothing to be remembered for.
