Depth Of The Heart Poem by Stephen Mukombe

Depth Of The Heart

Within the darkest depths of the heart
Repository of the darkest memories
Every pain inscribed in the ink of fire
The pain of life's struggles
In a thankless life,
Worst fears becoming a reality,
Fate enticing with damnation
The darkest abyss of life
Life's meaning a complete riddle,
gods of war ruling the day,
Life's happiness an elusive mystery
Tears of the helpless watering seeds of war,
Just a wrong day to be alive,
Alive only because of hope,
Dawning of a day of happiness,
When the claws of fate shall release their death like grip,
Then i shall be free,
Carrying no burden of grief,
Of a life wrongly lived.
