Rain And Tears On A Heartbreaking Night Poem by Jennie Scheihing

Rain And Tears On A Heartbreaking Night

The rain fell through the night
Covering up my crying eyes
Singing sweetly
My desperate lullaby
Because your window was shut
And your heart was too
The key was lost
I could not get to you
The rain sprinkled my face
And tears cascaded down
Leaving anguished puddles
On the forgiving ground
His house stood tall
On the freshly drenched grass
I had to run away
Tears slid down like glass
The street bled black
And the moon oozed light
Just another lost dream
In a forgotten girl’s life

Great job, Jennie... you described the anguish in this poem so very well. It paints a very sad image.
