I have got rainbow on my hands
And I have got nobody to give thanks
It springs of surprises
And I have got to pay all the prices
I have to learn to handle the rainbow
And I must not leave a shadow
The surprises are numerous
The challenges are bogus
The rainbow is my feelings
And the surprises are the consequences
Taking a challenge one at a time
I will not pay, even, a dime
Life presents all their rainbows
Fate is so near like your elbows
The surprises are your handles
And the challenges are your paddles
