Rajput Love Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Rajput Love

A Rajput girl
Taking me to Rajputana,
To the forts of Mewar and Chittor,
To a landscape of horses, camels and elephants,
Rajahs and maharajahs,
Ranis and their palkis
And singing Kahars,
To a saga of folklore
Draped in chivalry and bravery,
Battles fought and lost
And waged,
Swords clashed, spears targeted
With galloping, neighing horses, trumpeting elephants
And bands played
In full treachery and cospiracy hatched and executed
With spies
Seeking pity and mercy from.
