Raving Craving Poem by Mellisa Salazar

Raving Craving

What it takes to turn away
Those who have the ability to say no thanks
Are the real unsung heroes of today
When everything inside of you
The fabric of what pulls and drives you
How do we trust what we're made of
When outside of our eyes
What we create is misery and dirty, filthy, little lies
And All for what?
An itch to be satisfied
Delicacy is placed in the palm of our hands
And temptation in the corner of all of our eyes
To ignore the summer mosquitos sting
When lighting crawls under your skin
You lie there awake at night
Gripping at your sheets
Your fist have never been bound so tight
And every cell inside of you passes on the message
Give in, Just give in
We all just want some peace of mind
Soothe the storm and feel something kind
