Raw Poem by Dean Meredith

Raw

Yeah
Take my bloodied meat
And throw it
Against the wall
And hammer a steak
Into it
Before it falls
And look on
As it tries
To crawl
Away
And see
The sap run dry
And watch it die
Brown and grey
Warm then cool
And hear it say
Nothing at all
Not a single sound
And admire
The way
It goes
Quiet at the end
And smell death
In the room
And wonder why
There is no gloom
Its shades of white
And never black
Except long after
The attack
And losses counted
Trophies mounted
Darkness only comes
When we turn out
The light
