Raymond's Riddle Poem by John Sensele

Raymond's Riddle

Raymond slumped on his knees
Wondering why he should believe
Words of remorse can't assuage the pain of the brave bees
They dared to deceive

When their hearts spoke advice
Their brains choke on sums
They calculated would rid the palace of the vice
Inherent in drums of slums

Where bees on the rampage
Invaded the palace
Wreaking havoc at every stage and page
Until liars surrendered the necklace

Imbued with magic powers
Powers to cure
Powers to turn leaves into flowers
And powers to enslave puny pets to the lust lure.
