Re: Past Poem by Zane Gilley

Re: Past

The silver laid aside the golden trays,
Exotic culinary art prepared
By master chef - His food, the highest praise!
The feast of kings and men, with nothing spared!
The guest of honor is but the gifted cook
Of toasted fame, for now and ever more.
Inspiring men oft come to him and look
At gourmet meals he made by menial chore.
The jeweled food unbaked by heated brick,
And never steamed inside metallic pots.
Deliciously, his crafty words - the trick
Are mixed into his time remembered plots.
Few mortal men can best so easily,
His old, "but softly" footed poetry.
