Read The Bible Poem by Randy McClave

Read The Bible

I would rather give my shoes and shirt
To someone who crossed a desert,
No matter the color or the faith of a man
Just to become an American.
But, I wouldn't ever cross the street,
To help an American who treats a foreigner with deceit.

'Feed the hungry only if they have papers.'
Said all evil minded people and the haters,
'Help the poor only if it's convenient"
"When unto you, you feel lenient."
In the Bible if you have looked and read
Those words Jesus never had said.

'Clothe the naked only if they're from your land.'
"Always give them support and a helping hand, "
"Be there spiritually and physically to help them through"
'Love your neighbor only if they look like you.
That sentiment and belief the Lord never did invoke,
Those words, Jesus had never believed or spoke.
