Ready Rock Poem by Harlequin Rose

Ready Rock

We remember nothing of the night
other than that it changed our whole lives
there was something different int he darkness
a whole new high
some we took in vein
the rest we snorted
or swallowed
and then we held on tight
because we were a revolution
ecstasy tablets
and cocaine habits
LSD trips and candy-coated barbiturates
sweating onto the skin
of a psychedelic summer night
we were famous for our sins
our senses filled to the brim
rolling and rocking
tripping and hopping
and stopping
because the dawn is calling
this is a night we were meant to surviv
so we survived it
but we were ready to die young
just to prove we were good
just to prove we understood
just to prove...
that we could.
