Realistic Dickinson Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Realistic Dickinson

Tame days. Tame days.
Now I'm with thee.
Married life, so filled
With drudgery!

Frustrating - the dust -
To a hand holding a mop.
Done with the flirting.
Done with the fan.

Scrubbing the kettles
Soaking the pans.
Might I but rest for a day
These red, chapped hands.
