Reasoning Whitman

If leaves of live-oak were most common,
I reason,
instead of 'Leaves Of Grass',
'Leaves Of Live-oak'
would title his work.

Reason perhaps unsound:
his title may have too to do
with bodies he'd seen on the ground.
