Reborn Poem by Barry Middleton

Reborn

Rating: 4.5

they say we get one chance at life
but I am not so sure
we know the body truly dies
but might the soul endure

the body's dust returns to dust
we choose what is believed
the spirit just may be reborn
as new life to conceived

I do not know what heaven holds
I believe it is on earth
and that would be enough for me
my soul transformed in birth

somewhere the eyes are closed in death
somewhere a child is born
the spirit's journey never ends
but wakes to greet the morn
