Reciprocal Incongruence Poem by Fred Rik Kesner

Reciprocal Incongruence

'reciprocal incongruence'

Do not mistake
the measure of your malice;
it is merely my devotion,
inverted and returned to me
in a currency I already minted.

Your hatred is not
an answer to my love
—it is simply its interest,
accruing in a room
you think is yours.
