Recollections Poem by Pondering Portrait

Recollections

Rating: 4.0

The faint familiar sounds
Of such sweet harmony
And the familiar smells
That dodges old memory

Vivid, warm recollections
Embracing my heart of cold
Bathing it in painful pleasure
That will never again unfold

The phantoms of my past
Dancing before my eyes
Toying with my fragile senses
Longing for what’s gone by

Dried fountain of tears
Well up once again
To drown my broken heart
In what now is the end
