Red Droplets In The Snow Poem by An Angel Without Wings

Red Droplets In The Snow

Rating: 5.0

She didn't want to show her
She didn't think she'd care
She didn't think anyone would notice
She was really there

She walked around in silence
Wearing solid black and red
She didn't want her to know she cried
Every night before bed

The water will run red
Blood and blades is all she knows
Of how to cope with life
Red droplets in the snow

She thought that she was worthless
At least that's what they said
So her razorblades are scattered
All across her bed

She tries to hide it from her
Seeing in her eyes
That she was not what she wanted
No matter how hard she tried

She wishes she was pretty
She wishes she could be
Someone else who someone wants
Whose life is fun and free

But instead she goes in silence
No one sees how much she cries
All they do is spread rumors
And dirty, vicious, lies

She wishes she would love her
Stop and call her name
Hold her while she cries
But love her all the same

She knows that is too much to ask
Grabs her blades and grabs her knife
Writes 'Mommy dear I love you.'
And crying takes her life.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
... Sheila 23 May 2007

This poem brought tears to my eyes. You just want your mother's love. Do you really KNOW that she doesn't love you or maybe she just doesn't know how to communicate with you, but she wants to. I know that it wasn't always easy to communicate with my daughter. I wanted to talk to her so badly, sometimes, but didn't know what to say. And, when I'd try....sometimes she'd just push me away. Please, just give it a try and ask her to even go out for a coffee and talk. I'll bet she really wants to listen and I'll bet she really loves you. Sometimes, things just get mixed up and out of control. I really don't know your situation and I'm sorry for your reflections in this poem. Keep using your poetry to vent your pain! It really does help! Top marks for its 'realness'.
