Rain Poem by An Angel Without Wings

Rain

Rating: 5.0

Falls down with a power
To wash away the pain
Of sixteen years of life
With nothing else to gain

A lost and broken butterfly
Struggles through every day
Drops of rain fall down
Erasing what they say

Her wings are torn and shattered
Their words cut hard and deep
In the day she flies, but
Cries herself to sleep

This lost and broken butterfly
Sits out in the rain
And cries and cries and cries
And wipes away the pain

She was bright and colorful
Until her wings were torn
Now she's dull and dark
Words cut like blood red thorns

Each day they tore a little more
And ripped her wings apart
Used to be full of love
and now a pitch black heart

The day the rain raged down
Was the day she couldn't fly
This lost and broken butterfly
Laid herself down to die
