Red Hollyhocks Poem by Marilyn Lott

Red Hollyhocks

Red Hollyhocks adorn my garden
And out by the edge of my lawn
So beautiful they are, you see
They hug my house and far beyond

They stand so tall and so proud
As they waver in the wind
The bees drink their sweet nectar
Their stems sturdy and never bend

Their brilliance makes me smile
I look forward every year
To their summertime appearance
They are so very dear

They look so lovely with other
Colors around my home
Purple, orange and yellow
My Hollyhocks will roam

I wish you could see them
Where the bees will always flock
Around my flowers so happily
Especially my red Hollyhocks!
