Red Mountain - Poem by Taylor Holmstrom

Red Mountain by Taylor Holmstrom
Demons cackle and sneer within the red mountain of doom
They open their mouths and spit out white-hot fire
With their boiling tongues
Lava is flooding the structure
And making it a nightmare to all mortals
For no man knows when the mountain shall roar to life
And prey on its unsuspecting victims
With a mighty war cry, the beast will spew it molten saliva
Towards innocent lives
In an attempt to incinerate them
Man must pray
And stay alert
So that the red mountain will not catch us off guard
And swallow us up
Leaving us trap in an oven of fiery evil
Where flesh melts within seconds
And a mere mortal becomes but a distant memory.
