Red Rose - Poem by Deepthi Vincent

Do you remember the rose
That you found in a crystal vase
Beside your office work desk
On your last birthday

Do you remember the rose
Its color, so deep and vibrant
The smooth, velvet petals
And mesmerizing fragrance

I remember the rose
That I found in your dust bin
Along with heaps of garbage
Still in its glory

A rose as beautiful as your smile
With petals soft as your touch
A red rose with color of your lips
And scent of your breath

I still remember everything
I cannot forget anything
Do you know why?
Coz, that rose was ‘my heart'

Good poem Deepthi...good use of metaphor...rose is the symbol of love and heart...well, at times it bleeds red...10 (Report) Reply
