Redeemed Poem by Jo Lynn Ehnes

Redeemed

My soul's immersed within your gaze—
I dare not look away.
You set my icy heart ablaze
as love elects to play.

Your heat disperses through my core,
inducing summer's thaw,
a river swells and crests the shore—
my spirit kneels in awe.

With streams of pleasure flowing fast,
the rapids I will ride—
defeating waves where hopes were cast
when dreams were swept aside.

Amid the currents, faith I'd tossed
when violence held command.
Ashore I see my fortune lost—
revealed beneath the sand.

Within your hands I place this gift—
the missing treasure found.
My trust that once had sailed adrift
has docked upon your ground.
