Redeeming Thoughts, Of A Kiss.. Poem by Maxwell B Anderson

Redeeming Thoughts, Of A Kiss..

If, its okay with you,
I'd like to try to kiss you
and then
Just hold your hand.
Til the stars find
the sunrise
And,
I hope your eyes
still
are the way
they were tonight.

In case you might have wandered
during the throes of our embrace
My eyes were watching out, of course.
They never left your face.
In moonlit smile, the foreign thought
and fantasy evolve.
I just really hope they hadn't captured
and separated us...How cold?

Might I then remind
Them all;
Those naysayers and cynics too!
They were young
once.
And discoverers of romance.
Try to see if this,
is our fruition...
For our abstinence and waiting,
it should have
Its 'just rewards'.
