Redneck Blood Poem by Jessica Thomas

Redneck Blood

I don't want to hear any loud mouth
I wish were at home in the south
Where the sunshine shines
And watermelons grow on the vines
With the nice warm weather
I can float in the wind like a feather
Let the odious roll off as water like a duck
Or ram harsh words away like a 16 point buck
Like the full moon placed up in the sky
Or an American flag proudly flying high
Nothing matters when I feel so at home
In the woods or outdoors I'm never alone
Think about how the alligators just lay
I'll go south and be there to stay
Indiana's not that bad of a place
If you like corn fields and no space
In the south there's nowhere I'd rather be
After all I have a little redneck blood in me.
