Redneck Love Poem by norman hale

Redneck Love

A redneck was walking down the road
When old cupid shot him in the spleen
When he thought he'd seen the prettiest girl
She was covered in warts and her teeth was shiny green

He was plumb dumb founded
And he knew not what to say
So he walked right up to her and said
'Hey baby, how about a roll in the hay'

Well she slapped him so hard
That his face turned bright red
He said 'I guess it's out of the question,
Of us ever going to bed? '

She just turned and walked away
And as mad as she could be
But he didn't understand why
For she was just pretty as could be

So he followed her around for a bit
Just trying to apologize
For the hurt he had caused
He hadn't even realize

Finally she gave in
And accepted his apologies
But not before he begged
Down there on his knees

Yes, you can say old cupid
done made him plumb dumb
but then we are talkin about a redneck
And it's easy to say they're dumber than some

Now he finally got his old wish
In a round about way you might say
For they never made any love
But she did roll with him in his mound of hay
