Redwood Poem by Pete Rivera

Redwood

Listen as the bell chimes
Shrinking away
Atop the mighty redwood
Past the break of day

Silencing noice upon night
And slipping on my toes
On the snow on the sleet
Only God knows

I am fearful
And you are beautiful
And I love you
I will always
Always
Tell you

Speak loud and clear
Before you leave
Show me your wings
On posture so naive

Bringing me to smiles
You are my light
Shining on me
So warm and bright

I am fearful
And you are beautiful
And I love you
I will always
Always
Tell you
